A two-vehicle car accident in Tampa on Friday, July 31, 2009, left one person seriously injured. The Tampa car accident occurred on I-275 near Busch Boulevard.
The Florida Highway Patrol was notified of the auto accident shortly before 2:00 PM. One of the lanes in the northbound section of I-275 was shut down temporarily and the Busch Boulevard exit ramp was also closed, according to the officials’ report.
One person was seriously injured in the crash, said Tampa Fire Rescue Captain Bill Wade. The injured individual was an adult male passenger who had been traveling in a small red sedan. He was transported by ambulance to Tampa General Hospital for treatment for his injuries. Other people in the accident sustained minor injuries.
Wade also said that the sedan went through a guard rail after hitting a gray sport utility vehicle.
