August 25, 2010 – Orlando, Fla. - A 3-vehicle crash in Orlando claimed the life of an elderly woman on August 10 according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports.
The accident report from the agency states that Santos Ledee was traveling in the Orlando vicinity when he decided to make a left-hand turn at an intersection. The 79-year-old driver collided with another vehicle while in the process of doing so.
The car that Ledee’s vehicle struck then collided with a third vehicle, which caused the traffic build up in the surrounding areas. Motorists had to take alternative routes as police secured the area until the crash was cleared.
Ledee was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Centre where he received medical attention. His vehicle was carrying 3 passengers; 2 children and 1 adult. The two children, ages 3 and 12, incurred minor injuries and are expected to have a full recovery.
However, Ledee’s 73-year-old passenger, Raquel Lee, did not survive her injuries. Police believe she may have been related to the driver. There were no other injuries reported from the other vehicles involved in the collision.
The law enforcement authorities in Orlando are still investigation the cause of this fatal accident.
